University of Detroit Mercy, Eastern University, Regis University and Walsh are four of 140+ federally designated Centers of Academic Excellence in Information Assurance Education (CAE-IAE) with the National Security Agency and the Department of Homeland Security.
CAE-IAE institutions must pass a rigorous review demonstrating their commitment to academic excellence in IA education. During the application process, an applicant's IA programs, facilities, faculty, and research are evaluated against stringent criteria. Designation as a CAE-IE is valid for five academic years, after which the school must successfully re-apply in order to retain its designation. As a partner in the coalition they can offer students the opportunity to continue onto a undergraduate, graduate or doctorate degree in our IA programs.
Because of IA's critical importance in the protection of U.S. Infrastructure, Coalition students also have the opportunity to participate in the annual National Cyber Service Scholarship program, internships, co-op and employment opportunities. http://dodcio.defense.gov/sites/iasp2/
"Be proactive in meeting the security needs of our nation!"
UDM's Centre For Cybersecurity and Intelligence Analysis has responded by designing a Bachelor and Master of Science degree in Information Assurance in the college of Liberal Arts and Education. This will provide a comprehensive approach to all aspects of the national problems we face with threats against our information and infrastructure. We have bundled together in a single seamless solution, degrees that are designed to prepare both business strategists and technical specialists to protect our critical infrastructure.
Along with the traditional Undergraduate program in software construction (CIS), we also provide a concentration in Information Assurance that allows the student to gain entry into the rapidly growing professional field of Information Systems Audit and Security. The concentration complies with the recommendations of the CNSS 4011 national standard for Information Security Professional Education and it grants a certificate approved by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the National Security Agency (NSA) for that field. In addition, it is possible to obtain a certificate sponsored by the Information System Audit and Control Association (ISACA) in Sarbanes-Oxley audit. The Masters degree is also offered completely on-line, or earn your Bachelor and Master degree in as little as 5 years. http://liberalarts.udmercy.edu/programs/depts/cjs/cyber/index.htm

Information is critical to the operation and perhaps even the survival of your organization. Being certified to ISO/IEC 27001 will help you to manage and protect your valuable information assets.
ISO/IEC 27001 is the only auditable international standard which defines the requirements for an Information Security Management System (ISMS). The standard is designed to ensure the selection of adequate and proportionate security controls.
This helps you to protect your information assets and give confidence to any interested parties, especially your customers. The standard adopts a process approach for establishing, implementing, operating, monitoring, reviewing, maintaining, and improving your ISMS.
